Room Candle Co. was born out of a desire to slow down.

My wife and I started Room as part of a deeper shift in our life. We were rethinking the pace of our lives and asking what we wanted more of: time, calm, community. This business grew out of identifying what marked the feeling of being fully home. Not just in a physical space, but in our bodies and minds.

We’ve always believed that a home can shape how you feel inside it. We were drawn to the Hygge lifestyle: cozy rituals, slower mornings, and clean spaces that feel warm and meaningful. Scent, light, and texture have a quiet way of reminding you to pause and be present.

Room is an extension of that. It’s not just about products – it’s about atmosphere, story, and the small details that make everyday life feel a little softer around the edges.

Meet the Maker

After nearly 30 years in the fast-paced world of professional kitchens, I stepped away from the chaos. I had spent decades as a chef and cheesemaker, and those experiences taught me something that still guides my work today: the senses matter. They shape how we experience the world.

Candle-making is a lot like cooking or aging a good cheese. It’s slow work. It takes patience, attention to detail, and trust in the process. There’s no rushing it. Every candle we make is blended, poured, and cured by hand, using natural ingredients and clean design choices that let the materials speak for themselves.

While we started with candles, Room will continue to evolve – always grounded in natural materials, thoughtful design, and a desire to bring beauty and calm into people’s homes. We hope Room finds a place in yours.
